Welcome to the web home of

The Clacton Scooter Collective

HomeNews & InfoEventsGalleryTechnicalLinks

We are a like minded bunch of retro scooter enthusiasts that meet every Thursday evening at 7pm, at 'the Warwick Arms' Pier Avenue, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, UK. We also have regular ride-outs and rally meets throughout the year as we also firmly believe scooters are their to be ridden as well as admired!

The collective was formed in 2003, by scooter enthusiasts for scooter enthusiasts. It runs on a 'non-membership' basis, and we welcome anybody with an interest in Italian/Retro Scooters, or the Mod / Skinhead scene, with absolutely no joining fee's. We only like our members to put something back into the organization by heliping out at rallies and such like.

So polish up those Dr Martens or dust off that old parka and come down for a few bevvies and laughs with us.

Clacton has a steep history in scootering and mod tradition being one of the more popular meeting points of the mid-sixties. At Only 70 miles form the heart of London it was the ideal seaside meeting location for the 'Mods 'n' Rockers' and was still popular in the mod revival of the late 1970's with a local airfield being used as a makeshift campsite for the weekend.

Here's a national newspaper highlighting some of the mod's & rocker's well known anctics.
